Erebus stuck out his tongue at the Eevee, another habit of the gastly. "Yeah, yeah. We're just gonna knock you off that high-horse you put yourself on." He was starting to get annoyed with this furrball's attitude. "Maybe I will stay and fight." he thought to himself. He floated in, tongue protruding once again, ready for a lick attack. In his concentration on the Eevee, he didn't notice the Sneasel evolve behind him.

Immediately, Rai began to back away from the pair; not out of fear, but mere strategy. A suitable distance was needed for any one of his attacks to work well on a large percentage scale. Surely only one or two moves would work on the ghost-type pokemon encroaching on his immediate vicinity, but as for the other pokemon, there was a sudden sparkle of realization in the eevee's eyes. "It's evolving," he stated as more of a rhetorical question. If the sneasel was in fact changing into a weavile, then the situation had become even more difficult. For once, Rai would have to seriously think before acting; which was proving to be very hard to follow through.

"I think a proper beating will show you why I'm at the top and you're down here with the dirt," cackled Rai as he paws finally touched the sort of terrain he was looking for. In the blink of an eye, he performed a swift, arcing kick that sprayed sand upon his foe in a classy move known as sand attack. Whether or not it worked, Rai was none too sure as he escaped in a backpedaling feat of achievement up the same tree he had used for napping. From the nearest bough, he perched himself -- studying the area for referrence. Before his tactics could be deciphered, he leaped back down at the ghost pokemon with mouth wide open for a bite.

Nyula froze the swift and sand attack with an effortless blizzard attack then counter attack the eevee with an aerial ace before the bite attack landed on his ghastly ally

The sand caught Erebus by surprise, but was luckily blocked. He looked up to see the Eevee coming down at him and the newly evolved Weavile rushing to his aid. Quickly, he sunk into the ground in escape, coming up a couple feet away. He readied himself to attack the Eevee if his 'ally' happened to miss.

"Cretins! How dare you," snapped Rai just as he narrowly manipulated his body into an acrobatic dodge from the other enemy's aerial ace maneuver. He still did not avoid the encounter completely, however, as a large tuft of his fur cascaded down upon the grass a few moments later. He looked at the pale, beige portions of his pelt and took a second to notice his mane had been trimmed in the most obscure, disgusting manner; not to mention he felt exhaustion and a horribly crippling pain on his right shoulder. The little eevee ground his teeth together and aimed a cold glare at Nyula. "I'd rather die fighting under honor than win thanks to cronyism. I pity you both greatly, but it will soon pass," Rai snapped dryly while pacing about the small clearing a tad and finally resting in front of some thick, coarse shrubbery. A second plan of attack was creeping through his mind, but the best way to execute it would be to await the opponents' next moves. For now, he was poised for defense while trying to disguise the blow he took earlier from the enemy.

Nyula said "you should not pity me for im stronger then and that i pity you for think you are better then anyone." Then Nyula used Aerial ace again but luanched a shadow ball before he sped at Rai with Aerial ace.

ooc: It hit Rai, but narrowly. I didn't say he dodged it completely because Aerial Ace never misses; I said he just barely escape without his little head getting knocked about. Kinda doubt he can weasel his way out of another Aerial Ace and Shadow Ball though..

Bleh. Perhaps this is why I quit playing the game; it gets so complicated. Checked up on the move stats with Bulbapedia and I'll change my post to suit what it said.

Erebus looked at the battle, from the Weavile to the Eevee and back. Suddenly his temper calmed and he thought "Wait a minute! What am I still doing here? My enemies are battling each other, and they aren't paying any attention to me at all! I guess it's my chance to scram." Turning invisible, he started to float away from the battle.

Turning back, he muttered to himself. "But if it's any consolation, I'm rooting for you, Weavile." At that point he quickened his pace to leave the two behind him.

((I decided that two on one was too much of an advantage against Eevee, especially against a Weavile. Plus, my Gastly was just trying to get out from the beginning.))

"Ha," mumbled Rai before finally realizing that the measly weavile had a point -- as an eevee with mild attacks and mediocre levels, he wouldn't even be able to make the weavile break a sweat at this pace. It was then, after that spark of thought, that Rai began to feel a tad apologetic for being so hasty with the weavile and his other ghostly friend. Suddenly, while attempting to get a feeble, sly look at the ghost pokemon, Rai discovered he was slowly vanishing and trying to leave. How noble of you, he softly whispered, though with an edge of malicious venom towards the end, "Doesn't do me much good nonetheless!"

Caught off guard, the shadow ball attack hit Rai completely; knocking his fragile body backwards a few paces into the shrubbery. He leaped to his paws only to realize that he practically had no energy left to spare. Through the branches, he could see Nyula speeding towards a fated destiny with the eevee with yet another aerial ace. "Is this the only combination of attacks it can do," growled the male while letting his form blatantly struggle to its legs. Each attempt proved to be a fruitless endeavor, until finally the weavile broke through and the attack struck true with eevee's body. A gurgled bark left his jaws involuntarily once he struck the ground again, this time having sailed a few more feet away.

Rai rolled about on the tundra, over and over, until he came to a halt in a patch of yellow posies. Heavy eyelids opened slightly and were greeted with swaying petals, exuberant for the morning sun and gallant season thus far but oblivious to the carnage going on thus far. "I'll be.. They are quite effective though," the small creature managed to speak before coughing violently. He tried to stand again but his limbs didn't even respond to his silent pleas. At first, he was furious, but it ebbed away little by little into pure, unaltered sadness. For the first time in many seasons, Rai began to cry. "Get up! GET UP," he wailed fitfully at himself with no coveted success.

Quickly, despite the fact he couldn't even turn his head to see Nyula, Rai whined at the pokemon through clenched teeth. "Don't leave! I can still fight! Just.. Just let me get up! I can do this! I'm no weakling! You'll see," he spoke until another bout of coughing and wheezing interrupted his declarations. Even when practically past the brink of defeat, Rai refused to give in.

The young eevee channeled all of his leftover rage into raw energy and began to turn and crawl with just his front paws after Nyula. Rai hissed at her and spat uncontrollably while he began to foam a little at the mouth from overexertion."You'll leave when this battle is over! It's not supposed to end like this, he whimpered before finally losing all functioning of his limbs and laying dormant in the grass. Rai's chest fell and rose slowly -- the sweet, succulent air the only thing his body craved any more from him. Entrancing eyes, once burning with the anger of a disturbed youth, now watered until they glistened in the light. "Don't leave me here like this," voiced the animal before pursing his lips together, "I don't deserve to die as an easy meal. I'm sorry.. For everything. Just please, take me with you? I promise to be nice from now on."

ooc: Just go ahead and leave Rai anyway, Maru, so I can leave this thread. I want to move him elsewhere or retire him away and use some other character because he would do so much better in an evolved form. Until then, he's just a pitiful, whining, arrogant braggart.
