It was a hot, summer day. A young munchlax was playing by the edge of the river. However, he became excited and fell in. He clearly did not know how to swim. If no one assisted him soon, the poor pokemon's life was to be cut short.

"Finally, water!" came a calm but happy voice from above the water. A vaporeon slid in, feeling the cool water fall over her dry skin. She kicked back, ready to swim when she saw something splahing about in the water. "Huh?" she said, swimming towards it. It wasn't long before she relised it was a pokemon, one who couldnt swim very well either. She swam next to him and aimed to hit him in the side to push him to the edge of the water and out of the current.

The young munchlax plopped on the ground. Feeling disoriented, he nearly fell on his back. He looked to the vaporeon. The young munchlax grinned and said, "Thanks! I'm Slim. What's your name?"

"I'm Hydra, nie to meet you Slim!" she said, grinning back.
There was a sound from nearby. "Hydra, there you are!" came a young voice.
"Glitter? WHy aren't you with the others?" said Hydra, looking towards a small eevee running towards her.
"They're boring!" the eevee, Glitter, said. "I want to learn to swim with you!"
"But I've already taught you everything. Its in the tail remember?" said Hydra grinning at her.
"Whatever I'm staying here," Glitter replied, stubbonly. Hydra rolled her eyes and turned her head to Slim again.
"This is Glitter, my younger sister."

"Nice to meet you!" said Slim while grinning, "Can you teach me how to swim, too? 'Cause next time I'm scared I'll fall in and no one like you will be around to help. Please?"

"Sure," said Hydra. "But lets go a bit further down river. The currents too strong here and its shallower down there." Glitter began running along the bank and Hydra followed, swimming along.

"Okay!" replied Slim. They continued on until they reached the shallow part of the river. Slim, in excitement, jumped right in. The water was up to his neck. To keep himself anchored, he dug his feet into the floor of the river. Slim looked up at Hydra in curiosity.

"Well, you can't really work on your tail can you?" said Glitter, jumping into the water and promptly flicking her tail left and right to swim across the surface.
"So we'll work on you legs," said Hdra. She swam upto Slim, dropped her tail and swam only using her legs. She didnt look as graceful or as at ease as she did with her tail but she culd still swim well. "Copy me." She kicked her legs in turn and rolled on her back to show Slim what she was doing.

Slim pulled his feet out of the sand. He fell froward into the water. He picked his head up to breath. He then began copying Hydra as best he could. But because of his buoyancy, he began flowing downstream. In desperation, he began frantically flailing his limbs in the water, miraculously, he began swimming upstream. When he reached Hydra, he calmed down and caught his breath. "*Pant* How did *Pant* I do? *Pant*"

Hydra was smiling. "That was great for a first try!" said Hydra. "Try to to be so frantic and with practice you'll be great)
"She means your rubbish," said Glitter, swimming past him. "Well, I mean your rubbish anyway.
"Glitter! Be nice! I didnt say that to you when you were starting did I?" snapped Hydra.

Slim tried to ignore Glitter and looked to Hydra. "Okay," he said, "I'm going to try again." This time, Slim used his arms and legs. He smoothly cut through the water. However, he wasn't strong enough to move upstream. He stayed in place, though. "I'm doing it! I'm doing it!" he shouted with excitement.

After a bit of practice, Slim had gotten the hang of swimming. He wasn't as good as Glitter or Hydra, but he had the skills to keep himself on the surface. "Thanks for showing me how to swim," said Slim.

meanwhile, another vaporeon was watching angrily. Though it looked liek ellen, she was actually her brother, Aaron. "Come and take my taratory(cant spell). We'll see about that!" He mumbled to himself, and launched himself out of teh bush, and prepared to use a strong bite attack on teh otehr vaporeon.

OOC: It's spelled territory. Also, I'm sorry if it's considered god-modding, but since Jespeon isn't here, we'll just say she was knocked unconscious.
Slim yelled, "Hydra! Look out!" But it was too late. Hydra was knocked unconscious. Slim took a step froward, "Leave us alone, you big bully!"

Eyes pop behind Aaron. It was JoJo, the Ursaring. "Aaron, what are doing? I know this is your territory, but these are travelers, and they dident know," She said.She then put aaron back into the water. "Hi, Im JoJo! Who are you? I know where some sitrus berrys are for your freind." She says. She then swiftly leaves and comes back in a flash. "There were close by."

(No actually its power-playing, don't do it. I'm going to ignore what you put and post my reply. Sorry I was away but I'm allowed to miss a couple of days seeing as I have my Mock SATs next week)
Hydra twisted in the water and avoided the attack. She grinned. "You of all species should know never to attack a Vaporeon whilst its in water," she said to the Vaporeon attacking. Glitter had jumped onto dry land and shook the water off her fur, drenching the Ursaring.
Hydra looked at the Ursaring and Vaporeon, one eyebrow raised. "I've lived here my entire life and its never been a pokemons territory. If anything, it should be mine, the amount of times I've come to swim here. So I will ask you only once to refrain from attacking pokemon who want to swim here. This is fre eland and no-ones territory," she said, finally fixing her eyes on the Vaporeon.

"Excuse me!!" Yells Aaron, Enraged. He yells into the air, and a large group of dark lookingv pokemon come out of teh trees and bushes. Thye launch themselves at Hydra.
(Did i mention hes a shadow pokemon?)

"Shadows!" said Hydra before being thrown out of the water by a group of them. She hit a tree and fell to the floor, barely conscious. She opened her eyes and looked at Glitter. "Go, get the others, tell them to come quick, shadows." Glitter nodded, though ashe looked close to tears. She ran back up river before anyone could stop her.

After tossing Hydra, the group of shadows crept closer to Slim. He held up one hand in self-defense as he said "I'm warning you! Leave us alone right now!"

A volt tackle shot past him, knocking a group of shadows over like bowling balls. Out of the electricity appeared a Jolteon.
"Nice shot Sparky!" yelled a Flareon.
The Jolteon, Sparky, grinned. "Volt tackle's my newest move."
The Flareon grinned too and a Glaceon appeared behind it.
Glitter, two other eevees and a Leafeon had run over to Hydra.
"Come on Hydra get up!" said the Leafeon.
"Th-Thistle?" replied Hydra.
"Yes its me, are you alright?" replied the Leafeon, Thistle.
"I'm alright," she sid, grinning up at her.
There were now three eevees here, a Leafeon, a Flareon, a Jolteon, a Glaceon and a Vaporeon. 8 pokemon. The Octuplets.
(The shadows are NPC's arent they? If not I'll modify this coz It'll be pping.)

Slim stood with his mouth agape for a second. Then he stated with much confidence, "Lemme help!" Slim ran in front of some of the injured shadows. "You're about to get a mouth full of Slim!" said Slim as he raised his hands. One of his fingers began glowing. He was using metronome. After a couple of seconds, a flurry of leaves flew out of his hands at the shadows. It didn't do much damage, but Slim was still proud of himself.

"Erm, we're slightly more advanced in shadow battle than you. I dont doubt you could fight a normal pokemon fine but these are different," said Sparky.
The Glaceon sighed and walked over to the Munchlax. "Beat it Munchy, we're dealing with this, loser," it said, kicking it out of the way and using Ice beam.
(I appoligise for Freeze [the glaceon] because she's quite nasty at times)

Slim listened to Freeze and walked away. But while walking away, he turned his head around and stuck his tounge out at her before saying, "Jerk," under his breath.
