Tears dripped from Sequioa's brown eyes. She sat huddled next to a large boulder at the edge of the moutain she knew so well. So many emotions raced around in her head. She sniffled as she watched the large full white orb in the dark sky surronded by twinkling stars. How could a pokemon do such a rouge thing? Her parents hadn't done anything wrong. She sniffled once more and looked around towards what she used to know as her home, a happy place, which now seemed dead and cold.

The sound of Sequoia's sniffling permeated through the silence of the night, reaching a hidden entity within the forest. Eventually, light footsteps could be heard advancing towards the crying bonsly at a slow, but not lazy, pace. The sounds of the footsteps were heavy enough to portray a large creature, heavy enough to depict that whatever was approaching most likely didn't belong in the forest environment.
Although the creature may have been large, a calm, stable voice spoke, "Young child," he said, keeping himself in the shadows of the trees, "what ails you to make you cry like this?"

Sequioa jumped, startled, and scampered to the other side of the boulder. She sniffled and rested her head against the rock, frightened. She finally mustered the courage to look around the edge, but saw nothing but forest trees and... eyes.
"Who's there?" she called, her voice shaking, "A-are you the steelix?" But she figured it couldn't be, she'd for sure heard footsteps, and steelix didn't walk. Her quite sobs cut through the silent air, and she looked at the eyes, though they didn't blink. She was unsure, her breathing was short, her face soon twisted into fear and anxiety. She was about to run away, but she thought she saw slight movement in the shadows.

Perry was nearby, cutting himself a new shell and home by creating the toxin natural to his species. He spat enough of the toxin to melt the rock so that he could fit in it. Once he was fit well in his new home he heard the cries of Sequioa. He crept closer and hunkered down under his shell to watch the small Pokemon from hiding.

The shadowed entity shook his head as if she could see him clearly, "No, I am not a Steelix. Though, is a Steelix the cause for your sorrow?" he replied, his voice still holding the same tone as before. Seeing the young one's reaction, he felt compelled to calm her down, "You don't need to worry. I will not hurt you, you're safe for now."
Having not taken note of the small spectator nearby, a completely black charizard stepped into view, and even though the moonlight illuminated his frame, his black tail-flame didn't help at all, thus leaving his body still fairly hard to discern from the darkness. "Now, explain to me why you are crying." His demand was given in a very neutral tone, not child-friendly, but not intimidating so he wouldn't frighten Sequoia. He kept his distance from the young bonsly, knowing the common response to a charizard wasn't exactly a friendly or heart-warming one.

After seeing the Charizard expose himself into the light, Perry took a long gulp. he didn't want to have anything to do with that Pokemon. He picked up his shell and scampered away, leaving only markings in the dust to show where he had been.
Ooc: I thought I had a good character, but he kinda lost his appeal to me. So Perry is going away and I'm dropping out of this topic. I might come back with a different character later though. Who knows? Haha

Sequioa yepled at the large black charzard in front of her. She stepped back a few steps, whimpering, her mouth dropping, her eyes widening.
"A-a steelix t-threw my p-parents of the e-edge of the m-mountain. T-they're d-dead," Sequoia edged forward and looked at the black charzard, her face filled with sad and lonlieness.

The charizard listened to Sequoa's stuttering response, a feeling of empathy going out to her, but no sense of sympathy showed on his countenance. He took a few steps closer to the bonsly and tilted his head to the side calmly, "That's an unfortunate loss, little one. It may be tough for you to adapt for now, but the sooner you move on the sooner you'll be able to fend for yourself. I do not wish to scare you, but the sooner you clear your head the better the chance you'll have of surviving on without your parents." His advice was blunt, straightforward but not harsh, but the way he calmly spoke gave a hint to the fact that he wasn't apathetic to the youngling's emotions, "I speak from experience. My parents are dead as well."
Slowly kneeling down in front of her, he spoke softly one more time, "Why did this steelix kill your parents?"

Warming up to the stranger, the small bonsly stepped forward. "I'm sorry," she whispered. She took in his words and swallowed. "I have no idea why the steelix killed my parents." she shuddered as she remembered the previous events, "W-we were just sleeping and we heard this weird rumbling. My parents told me to hide, I did, but I had a clear view. Then a large steelix came into view, he looked very made, it was dark out, but I think his eyes were red..." she looked uncertainly at the charizard. "And then they fought, it was a large battle. He swept them off the side of the mountain, but he fell off too."

The charizard listened to Sequoia silently, his dark eyes focusing on her as she gave him as many details as she could. Honestly, he found it rather strange that there would be a pokemon who'd attack out of nowhere, and for no reason. Behind his stoic countenance was a mild desire to make logical sense of what might have caused such an outrageous burst of hostility, "Did the steelix seem to metnion anything as he was fighting your parents? Anything notable? For now there isn't much I can say, but the steelix attacking out of nowhere doesn't seem like the normal behavior of even a frequent belligerent. Had the steelix been around before he attacked your family?"
Although he was fairly engrossed in extracting information from the bonsly, he was still paying attention to sounds around the area, knowing that a pokemon that large made of steel may not die due to a simple drop. "Also, are you sure the steelix died?"

She looked down. "Alot of pokemon have been acting this way lately. Smaller pokemon have been attacking us alot lately, and alot of mom and dad's friends have said they've been attacked too. And I have seen the steelix around alot, he never looked as mad as he did tonight." Sequoia studied the black charzard as she thought, "I wonder if we did something wrong without me knowing it."
She looked up into the charzard's face, her eyes still wet. "I was pretty sure the steelix died, but I don't know."

Raising a brow, the charizard seemed interested in the fact that many of the smaller ones had been attacking as well, and he sorted away a question while Sequoia continued to speak. He started to infer that something in the area was affecting the minds of the pokemon, and whatever it was, was strong enough to gain control of a much larger entity at least once.
"Youngling," he began, his tone still level, "I don't believe your parent's had done anything wrong. Yet, with this I do believe that this area might become more dangerous for you if you choose to stay here. Do you have any other friends or family around here that haven't been affected by the attacks?"

"No," Sequoia replied, "I would choose to go with my aunt, but I don't know where she lives..." A strange thought passed through the bonsly's mind. What if...?

It didn't show, but the charizard honestly didn't want to end up babysitting the young pokemon until she could fend for her own. He took a deep breath as he looked back up at the night sky, then back to Sequoia, "Well, if you don't know how to fend for yourself, you're going to have to figure out how to soon enough. I assume you don't know where your family friends live either?" he replied, it was somewhat of a forward assumption, but caring for Sequoia's feelings in regards to her knowledge wasn't his priority in trying to come to a resolution for how he could leave her be in the comfort of someone else.

Sequoia whispered, keeping her head down, "I don't know anybody around here, but I know you...now," Sequoia looked at the charzard, the edges of her mouth turning upward slightly.
The bonsly stumbled forward a bit from behind the boulder so she was out in the open. She puffed out her chest akwardly, and lifted her chin, so she could face the charzard. She raise her voice a little, "I may seem small, but I can take care of myself. I can fight well, we can be a duo, just you and me, roaming the countryside, battling pokemon that cross our path. You don't have to think of me as a daughter, think of me as a sister instead."
She widened her brown eyes until they looked like wide saucers on her face, and she protruded her lower lip, forming a face that looked like a young eevee's, "Please?" She begged.

She widened her brown eyes until they looked like wide saucers on her face, and she protruded her lower lip, forming a face that looked like a young eevee's, "Please?" She begged. For the most part, the charizard was trying to avoid this scenario as best his could, not wanting to have to worry about another whole being to take care of other than himself. There was an odd sense of entertainment coming from watching the bonsly stumble forward in an attempt to impress him, sighing a little, ~If you could take care of yourself, wouldn't you not be in this situation...?~ he thought inwardly, keeping his face still emotionless. Standing himself upright and looking ahead, he thought of the implications of allowing for this youngling to be attached to him like a 'sibling', as she had put it. "I don't think you'd enjoy travelling with me, little one," he began, looking back down at Sequoia. "You shouldn't trust everyone who helps you, just because they seem to be a reasonable being. For what reason are you set on following me around...?" (Sorry if reply is a little weak ^_^'' Stayed up all night for a midterm and slept some of the day away)

Sequoia stared the charizard in the eye, her expression, unlike his, peeved. She may be young, but she had a temper.
"How would you know I wouldn't like traveling if you haven't tried? Are you too much of a chicken," Sequpia spat, then trailed off, deciding it wasn't a good thing to anger the charizard, considering he was older, stronger, and probably able to pwn her. She took a deep breath, considering the options, trying to calm herself down. So much had happened it was all so confusing. She stood up straighter, and put on a determined face. "I don't have anyone else to turn to. I swear I won't be that troublesome. I'll leave as soon as I'm strong enough to survive on my own. Right now, I really don't want to be running around on my own while an angered steelix is after me and I'm in the forest where thousands of seasoned and none to friendly pokemon live. Which brings me another point, you were sensable and nice enough to check if I was okay, that should be enough, shouldn't it?: Sequpia trailed off, blinking fast and looking at her feet. She sighed and rested her head against the boulder behind her. This was so stressing. "And, I never got your name...?"
(Your reply was fine, mine was a bit... well, you know... angered. S

The charizard listened intently to the flared temper of the bonsly, stoic expression remaining unchanged as she pleaded her case to him. Once she was done speaking, he kept silent for a little while. He had to admit, her slight burst of anger wasn’t something that most had the guts in them to try with a charizard, young or old. He gave an amused ‘Hmph’ as he stretched out his wings, “You’re sure the determined one. A temper though will get you nowhere, just be happy that I’m not a hot-headed belligerent that most of my kind has proven to be.” His eyes, and the rest of his body for the most part, were unmoving as he continued to consider her situation.
“You say you aren’t going to be a bother, but there’s no way to judge that you’re going to uphold that behavior.” He stated simply, continuing on without giving her a chance to reply, “I won’t lie to you and say that you won’t see more death and suffering if you come with me. ‘Cause often times I need to take care of a few things on my own personal agenda. I’ll let you come with me, on the condition that you understand that there may be times where you may not enjoy being there.”
“Call me whatever you’d like. My name is not important to you.”

"I'm sorry for being so irritable," Sequoia looked ashamed, but she looked up, smiling. "How does the name...er-Buddy sound...?" she looked a little shy at the name she'd made up on the spot. "And how will we travel? Can I ride on your back?!" Sequoia's eyes brighten and she smiled wide.

The charizard nodded slightly in acceptance of Sequoia’s apology, his mind taking a quick check of their surroundings, fairly sure that they were secure from any potential attacks -- despite having a steadfast belief in his abilities to defend himself from anything that might attack, he couldn’t guarantee the same for the little Bonsly if she were to be ambushed if he had his guard down. Although he had been fairly stoic during their talk, a very subtle smile crossed the draconic pokemon’s face upon hearing his new nickname, “Yeah, sure, I’d say you’ll want to work on it, but that’ll suffice for now.”
Upon the next question of flight, there wasn’t much the charizard could say in regards to denying her enthusiastic request, “I have no qualms...but um,” he tilted his head, looking at Sequoia, a brow raised to subtly demonstrate his slight confusion, “I’d rather not have you fall off if you can’t hold on -- I tend to fly high and fast.”

The Emonga Bros were searching for something to eat when they came across these two and looked at them. "Hey, E, these Pokemon seem to be nice Pokemon. Maybe they have something to eat.", Mon said. He looked at E. E replied that these Pokemon should be kind ones. They didn't seem mean at all. Ga was approaching them. "Hello there. My brothers and I have been just walking around and saw you two. Do you have anything to spare? We are very hungry you see, after our parents left us, we have been having a tough time moving on and surviving.", Ga said, bravely. "If you would like us to leave, we will kindly do so." Ga said lastly. The other two were looking up at the big Charizard.

~Hm...more to look after. Do I really want to take care of any of them?~ He kept his questions to himself behind a stoic look. He was somewhat surprised as to how all three of the brothers were having difficult times surviving, considering that small rodents like them for the most part ate fruit and often insects, there wasn't much that he could think of in their defense. "You may remain here if you wish. I do not have anything to spare you though, simultaneously, I don't know what you normally eat." The charizard turned around to face the three brothers, raising a brow, once again surprised by the bravery -- or lack of knowledge -- that these pokemon had when regarding something higher up on the food-chain than they. To be honest, he could somewhat understand the bonsly, since there was very little that would eat a rock-type without good reason to do so.
His eyes stayed locked upon Ga after looking at his two brothers for a moment, "If you are to stay, then give me your names and the reason why your parents abandon you."

"My name is Ga, and these are my brothers, E and Mon." , Ga replied, pointing to E and Mon. "We're the Emonga Bros!" , they said all together. "As for the reason why our parents left us, they said that they couldn't take care of us and they just threw us out of our home." , they finished. They looked up at the Charizard with eyes that shone. "We usually eat fruits, so, do you have any?" , Ga said boldly. The brothers' stomachs growled in reply.

The charizard quickly dismissed the united cheer, "Hm. You three seem to be quite close, yet neither of you have spoken. You--" he nodded to E, "find three berries that are within sight of me. Next, you-- " looking at Mon, "you go get the berries. Ga, you just sit there. I dunno if you've got fearlessness or sheer lack of knowledge, but I don't think you realize I've eaten snacks bigger than you." (I apologize for my very delayed, and short, response to this thread -- there's been complications with family and school that have prevented me from logging in as much as I'd like )

"Okay!" they all replied. E ran over to the bushes near the charizard and found 3 pecha berries. "Mon! Over here!", E said. Mon scrambled over and grabbed the berries. The 2 of them walked back to Ga and sat down happily. "Yay! Food!" they said.

Sequoia was watching the whole scene from behind her rock. He found it very humorous how well "Buddy" was taking things.
She stepped out into the moonlight and smiled at "Buddy", then at the Emonga Brothers.
"Hi Ga, E, and Mon," she said, trying to remember their names," I'm Sequoia."

~How interesting.~ Sequoia sat down next to the rock as her stomach started to complain to her.
"You'll have to come with us if you want to stay," Sequoia told Ga, who seemed the only person awake right now. She sighed, though she knew it was rude, but she didn't exactly want to tell the three brothers her story, much less allow them to come with "them". Perhaps this was how "Buddy" felt. She looked at her feet and rested her head against the rock behind her, looking up at the stars, then she looked at the beautiful scene around her. How wonderous Erymire was.
