[Ok, good idea. ^^] Blinking at the growlithe's sudden spurt of action, she trotted alongside Koribi. At his question, she felt her ears twitch and she hoped he hadn't noticed. "What? I... I wasn't saying anything...." She said hastily, looking off to the side. I don't need to worry Koribi to worry about me. He already tries to put up a brave front for everyone, when I can tell he's troubled about something. Staring off into the distance, the vulpix didn't notice the tree standing in front of her and with a THUD she walked straight into it. Falling backwards, Faya gave a short yelp of surprise. It didn't hurt, just surprised her. Shaking her head, she stared at the ground, embarassed. Sighing, the vulpix looked up, staring Koribi in the eye. "Alright... Atalaya. She was my sister. We got seperate a long time ago. Too long ago to remember exactly when." She spoke, amber eyes sincered as she waited for her friend's reaction.

"...Are you okay?" Koribi suddenly panicked, examining her head. "That sounded like you hit your head hard! Does it hurt? Um, what to do...h-here, lie down!" He gently pressed down on her back, before trotting around and examining where the bruise was. At first, it didn't seem like he had even heard what she had said about her sister...but afterhe had brushed her fur back to make sure there wasn't too much of a problem...he quietly responded.
"...I'm sorry you were seperated from her..." he murmured softly. "...I....sort of understand...but it's probably worse for you than it was for me, I...well..." He grew quiet, trying to avoid his own story...no point in bringing that up... "...You know? I bet she's still looking for you!" he barked excitedly, wagging his tail. "A-And you know what else? After we find this treasure...I'll help you find her again! I know we can!"

Staring up at him with wide-eyes, she felt a weight lift from her shoulders. He.... Despite his own pain... He wants to help me... How... How was I so lucky as to come across such a friend? I don't deserve this much. Blinking, she felt a sad smile cross her face as she looked up at the growlithe. "Koribi.... But you... Aren't you hurting too?" She murmured, barely louder then a whisper.

koribi yelped and fell backwards, onto his hind-paws. "..Hurting...? N-No!" he said, the goofy smile back on his face just as quickly as it had left. "Of course not! There isn't anything for me to be hurting about...unles it's feeling your pain from the bump on your head, oowch~!" He wagged his tail, putting on the brave front once more. Like Faya would want to hear about that...like she needed to hear about that.
"Don't be silly," he repeated in the same happy tone. "I'm perfectly fine!"

Blinking, she could sense something was wrong. But at the same time she realized the growlithe probably didn't want to talk about it. And even if he does, there's no saying he'd open up to me. Smiling, she stood up, casting him one last glance. "Alright... But if anything's wrong, you know you can tell me... Right?" The wind blew lightly through the trees, and she looked away from her companion and over at the path ahead of them. Ok. I'll do what I can to keep Koribi happy until he's finally ready to open up. Until then... Until then, I promise to be his friend. Smiling at her own vow, Faya began walking again.

"...Um...yeah..." He mumbled quietly, idly kicking a rock with his paw. "...Y-Yeah...I...I know..." He shook his head furiously...no sense in burdening her in that, he needed to remember that! No...be happy...
"...Well, the others seem to be going rather slow," he said in the same false cheeriness that he had put on a second earlier, trotting back up to Faya's side. "Which means, once we find the treasure, we'll get the most! Hehe, c'mon Faya...we have to make it over to that boulder..." He pointed to the strange, triangle-like object that they had seen painted into the stone. "...So we might as well race!" He grinned at her, lowering himself slightly...before sprinting off, laughing.

Smiling, she was relieved as she saw his cheerful grin again. Even if it was fake, even if he was hurting deep inside, she was glad that he could still smile like that. "Not if I can help it!" She barked, chasing after him, tails flowing behind her in the breeze. Her paws felt like they were running on air, and up ahead, the whole world seemed to stretch out to her. Opportunities, choices, decisions to make.... The world really is a wonderous place! She thought as she dashed on, pulling up along-side Koribi.
