"I meant in private, to friends," Owyn said quietly, hanging his head lower, sitting once again with all four paws on the ground, to the sunlight, both of his two tails curved around his left flank.
"If you were so brash to them off of the battlefield, you wouldn't have any after a while. And didn't you say to me just moments ago that you need friends to evolve? Now, after evolution, it's a completely different story-" during this his tone changed with the 'shrugging' of his shoulders "-but before then...I would advise you to be careful how you treat those in your compnay."
He meant it as a gentle warning, knowing that Shade could see that his hackles were down and his tone once again soft and gentle.

"I treat everyone as I treat myself. If they want to get offended and leave my company, i won't keep them." Came Shade's response, "But the ones who stay beside me, even though i'm brash, those are true friends."

Owyn thought for a moment. The truth that rung in Shade's words was undeinable, but oddly, it didn't bother Owyn. In fact, he rather liked it. He supposed that it wouldn't be too bad, if he was friends with this strange Riolu, but he didn't suppose the friendship would be very lasting or meaningful. Perhaps this one meeting was enough. Or perhaps they might meet again in the future. "I see your point, now that I think about it. If they stay with you, then they are true friend to you. That might not mean they'd be as good a friend to someone else, but, that's where your logic fits into it."(OOC: Sorry it took me so long to post. I've been busy with school and all, but I'm back now. )

(To tell ya the truth... I had the same stuff going on... So i understand.)
"No. True friends can overlook each other's weak points and work together. Friendships where one or both must continually change fall apart." Shade stood up, "True friends, although they make mistakes, always forgive each other."

Again the Felissi listened patiently as Shade spoke, taking in the words first and then interpreting them in his mind. He knew he still had much to learn, but as obvious as both their youths were, this Shade somehow grew up with a much broader vision of life and what it meant to have friends and family. Good ones, at least. He thought of his father back home, and wished he could go back to see him.
No, I can't. I haven't made my peace with myself or my mother's spirit. Until I do, I'm on my own.
Then, as he finished that thought, he saw Shade stand up. He blinked. Should he let him go and lose a good conversation, or was it simply best to do so?
"Are you leaving now, then? I would certainly like to follow you for a little while and speak with you for a few moments more, but if you feel our meeting has served its purpose, I am more than willing to depart in the other direction." He flashed a gentle grin. "Provided, of course, I'm careful not to fall into the falls again."
