Charna finally stopped walking when she reached the sparkling stream. She had led her lamb a long way, and she knew her daughter needed to rest. It seemed safe here; the biggest pokemon that seemed to be around recently were smeargles, to judge by the green smears on a few nearby trees. "Inyena...here's where we'll settle down."

Inyena flopped down and fell asleep. Her legs were scratched and bleeding and her tail light was a dule beige, far from her normal bright amber.

ooc: No but if you want to join it you can.
ic: Charna lay down right next to her lamb and curled her tail protectively around her baby, at least partway. She too went to sleep.

Inyena tossed and turned. She was having the same nightmare, when the hondoom had almost killed her.

Charna awoke when she felt her own lamb thrashing in her sleep against her. The lamb's amber light was fluttering rapidly. "Inyena," she said softly, nudging her with her flipper. "Wake up. You're having a bad dream."

A caterpie crawled alonside the stream, looking for a snack. He came upon the ewes. His curiosity got the better of him as he crawled over to investigate.

Charna looked at the caterpie, but didn't try to get rid of it. Caterpies were pretty harmless.

The caterpie saw no threat in the two, so he continued. Taking interest in the ball of fluff named Inyena, he crawled over to her and buried his face in her fleece.

Charna nervously picked the caterpie up and set it down off of her daughter. "Please, stay off," she said, a little defensively.

"Sorry, I was just curious. I never saw something so fluffy," replied the caterpie, "My name's Verme, by the way."

ooc: Inyena is actually not fluffy..she's a spotted mareep and they have fur, not wool. {see the fanmades}
ic: "Yes, my daughter is very beautiful, very soft," said Charna. "I know you didn't mean any harm. But she's been through a lot, and she gets scared easily because of it." Charna stroked her daughter's back.

OOC: Mareep are sheep. Sheep have wool don't they? Besides, it looks pretty fluffy to me.
"Oh, OK," replied Verme, "Where's her daddy?"

ooc: Only domestic sheep have fluffy wool; wild sheep do not. Even some domestic sheep have only short hair. And I made up the fan pokemon. If I say she has fur then that's what she has.
ic:
"Her daddy is far, far away," said Charna. "Far away in a place called Hallowmoor...with my other lambs."

"Not yet," said Charna. "Maybe in the future, but her daddy is a nasty pokemon. I'll be glad never to see him again unless he's dead, to be honest."

"Enslaved and imprisoned me, and tortured me and my lambs, for years," said Charna. "I had six lambs by him, well seven now. One didn't make it."

Inyena woke with a start. She trembled and her fur was soaking wet.

"Inyena, my poor dear," said Charna. "You're soaked. Honey, what's wrong?" She wondered if her daughter were running a fever or something.

Inyena trembled and hid her face behind her mothers flippers.

"No," said Charna. "I'm not going to dip her in the stream, if she wants to go in and cool off she's free to walk there with her own four legs." Charna embraced her daughter gently. "It's okay Inyena. It's okay."

"There's nothing to be afraid of, Inyena," said Verme as he crawled over to the side of the stream to demonstrate. He put his front two suction pads in the water. Before he could even comment, he was swept into the stream.

Inyena bleeted and ran afterhim. She tripped and fell to the bottem of the stream being unable to swim.

Being a bug type, Verme had no swimming experience. Because of his small size, the river swept him away with ease.

Charna leaped in and hauled her daughter out of the water. "Inyena! Are you ok, are you okay??" she asked her.
