A nice, clear aternoon in the mudpits, it was. A young Hippopotas waddled over to a bush, and ate the berries on it. Then seeing that the pits were cool, now this would be a good time to keep the flies off. So the young one slowly waddled into the Pits, and ducked down for a bit, then came up and started to throw his head around, flinging the mud around.

The totodile watched for a moment, enjoying the day. It was the first time since the accident that he hadn't thought about his revenge plan. In fact, he was just spending the day relaxing. And then he'd come across this hippopotas, yet another interesting sight.

The Hippopotas then heard a voice from behind him, he turned around and saw a totodile on the bank. "Oh, Hello there!" He said as he continued to roll around. Then he stopped, and slowly waded up to the bank, next to the Totodile, completely covered with mud. Forgetting that it was even there, he shook himself free from his mud, sending it flying every which way.

Kayon was about to reply, when he was suddenly showered by the moist dirt. Gaurding his eyes as the earth flew in all directions, he waited for the shower to die down and then he looked back at the hippopotas.
"Hello. My name's Kayon, what's your's?"
He asked, bracing himself for another shower just in case.

"Dooooh, I'm soory i got mud on you Kayon. My name is Eustice." He drooped his head when he realized what he did. He thought that it was weird for a water type to be here at the Mud Pits. "So Kayon, what brings you down here?" He said, trying to strike a conversation.

Shrugging, he smiled a bit, wondering why he had come here in the first place.
"No reason. I just wander around, thought I'd meet some more pokemon."
Not to mention I'm searching for HIM. If I learn as much as I can about the different pokemon and areas here, it could help me for the moment when I face off against him.
He added mentally, picturing the pikachu's face, those burning eyes, the extra fur that seemed almost like hair that shadowed his brow. He gritted his teeth, clenching his fists slightly.
"Nice to meet you Eustice. I'm guessing you must live around these parts?"
He asked, trying to erase the thought of his mortal enemy.

"Yea, my herd's around here somewhere... I'm just not sure where... it's been a while." Eustice said, trying to remember the last place he saw them... but with no luck. "Duuh, I wish I knew they were.." Eustice gave another blank stare as his mind began to wonder again...

Kayon watched Eustice for a moment, wondering how a pokemon could not remember if it was alone or not. Shrugging it off, he shuffled his feet, looking around at the drying mud spots. It would be nice to practice his water gun now that the once sloshy ground had already begun to crust.
Inhaling deeply, he felt the usual queezy feeling as he released and a jet of water burst forth from his jaws, hitting the ground hard like a geyser, only smaller. He continued to spray until he ran out of breath and fell backwards, already tired out from his water gun. But he was satisfied with his work. The ground had become moist once more, and it felt refreshing beneath his feet. But he would need to work on his stamina. So far he was only good for one powerful water gun, and that wasn't enough.
Then an idea popped into his head. It would be fun, and good practice.
"Hey, Eustice, what do you say about a practice battle?"

"Actually a spar would be a good Idea." Syrus said as he considered it.. Then he crouched, and lowered his head, and said, "Let's go for it!" He then kicked up a bunch of nearby sand for a Sand Attack at the Totodile.

A grin spread across his face as the hippopotas jumped right into battle. Leaping backwards, he reminded himself that he would be at a disadvantage, seeing as Eustice was used to sand, unlike himself. He saw the attack coming, and doged barely, feeling the sand skim across his foot as he leaped sideways. Rebalancing himself, he leaped into the air, opening his jaws and letting a burst of Water Gun shoot out.
[Lol. He's still young so he only knows like three moves. XD]

[So is eustice, by the way!] Being as slow as he was, Eustice took the hit, and hard, being a ground type. He was starting to get angry, so he then charged in to Bite the Totodile.

Kayon, taken by surprise, felt the hippopotas's jaws clamp firmly around his arm. His eyes turned big and for a moment he was still. And then he felt the pain. Hopping from foot to foot, his mouth wide, he hobbled about in pain.
And bite is my signature attack...
He thought. It truly was clever of Eustice to use such an unexpected attack. Dancing around and around, he didn't realize that he was kicking up sand, sending a flurry of it in all directions. The totodile rushed back and forth, flailing his arm with Eustice still clinging to it. Finally, he skidded to a halt. He couldn't take any more damage, not after that bite attack. Swiveling around, he thrust open his jaws and, taking one deep breath, blew out with all his mind, sending forth a jet of water straight at Eustice's face.

The Pressure from this Water Gun Kept Eustice down as he struggled to stay in this fight, but it was too much, being a ground type. Eventually he collapsed, and he was knocked out.

Panting, his sides rising and falling heavily, he looked at Eustice. He had to admit, for a ground type, the hippopotas had put up a great fight! Gulping in deep breaths, he walked over slowly, holding out his hand.
"Wow. That was a great fight. You're really strong, Euistie."

Eventually, He came back to consiousness, and saw the Totodile wanting to help him up, so he let him, and he then said, "Yea, thanks, you're pretty strong too.." Once he regained himself, he then looked around for a moment, wondering what he was gonna do next.

Sighing, he caught his breath and then surveyed the landscape. Since the battle he'd just had, he hadn't really thought about his surroundings. True, it was much like a heap of mud and sludge, but he didn't mind to much. It did suck at his feet and make loud, clucking sounds every once and a while, but the moisture felt cool against his parched skin, and he let it cool the burning sun that scorched him. Being a water pokemon, he wasn't used to such hot weather, and he found himself with a growing thirst, his drying skin becoming an irratation.
"Hey.. Do you know if there's anywhere we can get some water?"
He asked finally, beads of sweat running down him, his tail drooping and his eyes squinted.
Eustice thought for a moment, trying to get his bearings. The way that Kayon looked made him hurry up and concentrate hard. He may be dim, but he wasn't that dumb... He thought hard for a moment, then his face smiled as he came up with an answer. "The sparkling stream isn't too far from here, you can rest up there if you want."

"Duuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh......" Eustice thought long and hard as he tried to remember how to get there..... He looked to the Mud Hole, and then to Kayon, and then to the left, and then to the right, and then even straight up for a while...
He closed his eyes and gave an embarrasing grin. "Nope, sorry i can't remember..."

Talon, Striker, and Jay padded along in the forent near the mud hole. "Could ya move any slower, Talon?" Striker complained. Talon growled slightly, and turned to face Striker. "Atleast I know how to control my stonach! All you ever do is eat!" Talon barked. He launched himself at Striker and began to fight with him, biting his ears and tail. Jay listened as they fought, and suddenly heard the sound of rustling leaves. They were rolling down the hill that led down to the mud pit! Jay chased after them, and soon he heard them splash into the mud. Jan skidded to a stop at the edge of the pit and sniffed the air, smelling a hippopatas and a totodile right next to where they had rolled down. He blinked his sightless eyes and looked at the two pokemon, embarrased due to his two brothers being idiots and getting mud everywhere. "Sorry about that..." he said almost silently. He growled at his two brothers and pulled Talon out of the mud, followed by Striker. "Any YOU learn to keep your yap shut!" he growled. He had been annoyed, and all his brothers ever did was fight.
